German + Italian = Supermodel?
The New York Times ran an article entitled Off Runway, Brazilian Beauty Goes Beyond Blond a few months ago discussing a gold mine for discovering the next supermodel: Rio Grande do Sul. This state was mostly colonized by Germans and Italians, which, fast-forward to the present day, has given us the likes of Gisele and Alessandra Ambrosio.
It’s hard to believe that model scouts are now (literally) mapping out their next discovery zone based on an area’s colonization history. Here’s the article’s accompanying video:
